International School of Advanced Research Study (ISARS) is an institutional research arm of the International Institute for Policy Review and Development Strategies (IIPRDS). IIPRDS is a world’s leading international accredited research Institute that provides platform for independent, collaborative institutional evidence-based research endeavours

Mission of ISARS

ISARS is design to impact research skills to researchers and help improve their research capacity.

Vision of ISARS

To improve individual’s research skills through independent engaging study, logical thinking and simple writing

Structure of Study for Certificate Programme

The course is 100% online and it is flexible. English is the official language of study. The course will facilitate thinking that is logical, reading that is critical, and writing that is clear, simple and engaging.

The Certificate programme is for 6months; 5months lectures and 1month research exit essay. There are 6courses in all, divided across 6months. A student is expected to take a course in 1 month. Each course has 4 Module, divided across 4weeks. A student is expected to take 1 Module in a week. Each Module has an assessment test which the student must carry out and submit to the course instructor at the end of each week. By the 4thweek, it is expected that each student has successfully completed the Module and have submitted weekly assessment. The student is eligible for an examination by the 5th month after successful completion of the 5th course. Provision is made for repetition of courses if the student fails to meet the basic requirements as shown below for each course work. This means an extra month is needed to repeat the course failed. The exit essay is written and submitted in the 6month.
The teaching methods in the course will include:

1. Lecture
2. Practical
3. Group work
4. Participant presentations

Course
Assessment

Continuous and end of the course assessment

40% - Class Activity/ Assessment / Assignments
30% - Final Examination
30% - Exist Essay/ Seminar/ Conference

Late assignments are not accepted except in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the instructor. If a student receives an unsatisfactory grade, the assignment can be resubmitted within a week of receiving the grade. The minimum pass grade is a B. Student who score below a B grade will be required to repeat the course. Students will formally present their research exist essays in an Institutional Seminar or Conference and have it published before graduation.

Grading
System

A+ = 90-100
A = 80-89.9
B+ = 70-79.9
B = 60-69.9
C = 50-59.9
F < 50

COURSE GRADES:
A Outstanding scholarship. Performance that significantly exceeds the requirements and qualitative expectations of the course. Superior mastery of subject matter. Initiative and self-direction leading to significant study and related activity beyond course requirements.

B Good Scholarship. Performance that fully meets all the requirements and qualitative expectations of the course. Solid mastery of subject matter.

C Marginal Scholarship. Performance that barely meets the requirements and qualitative expectations of the course. Marginal mastery of subject matter does not meet the expectations of course work.

DESCRIPTION:
This course will provide an opportunity for students to establish or advance their understanding of research and it importance, define and identify a research problem; develop a research topic, developing a problem statement, identifying key objectives with relevant hypothetical and theoretical variables for literature. Knowledge of how to develop an abstract and an introduction or background to a research study will also be built up in this course.

LEARNING OUTCOME:
At the conclusion of the course, the students will:
- Write a clear research abstract and develop keywords
- Understand the meaning and important basic elements of research
- Identify a research problem, develop a topic and objectives of the study
- Be aware of the ethical principles of research, ethical challenges and approval processes

Lesson 2: Types and structure of literature review
Lesson 3: Use of library to select and evaluate appropriate texts
Lesson 4: Bibliography and references
DESCRIPTION:
The aim of the course is to provide you with the methodological skills necessary to carry out independent research. Throughout the course, methodological and design considerations are integrated with statistical techniques. Students will be exposed to techniques of designing and administering research instruments. Research methods is divided into three components; methodological issues, advanced experimental and quasi-experimental designs and advanced data analytic techniques, including analysis of variance, regression modelling and regression diagnostics, factor analysis, and reliability analysis. Students are taught these techniques in the context of SPSS and other computer-based data analysis software. Qualitative methods are considered briefly.

LEARNING OUTCOME:
At the conclusion of the course, the students will:
- Describe types, importance and applications of method and designs in research
- Design a research instrument and administer to a pilot sample group
- Enter, analyse, and interpret the results of data using SPSS for Windows
